Holy hell, you're all getting so technical with this gene crap that one could argue it was impossible for their children to even exist, considering only members of the same species can reproduce.

Just because a gene is dominant does NOT mean for sure it is going to show up, either.
thats a good point, this whole stuff is made up, considering they are different breeds

Gokus tail wasn't removed at birth. He kept his tail until his training with Korin in DB and during that training he figured he didn't need it so he removed it right before the torney.

Trunks was born with a tail, I'm guessing bulma removed it because she saw Goku transform into Oozaru in DB and saw that Gohan could transform too. I'm sure Chi-Chi did the same thing with Goten.

Pan and Bra i'm sure had tail but had them removed as well.
would pan have a tail she's only like 1/3 or 1/4 saiyan

No, she's got far too little Saiyan blood in her.

I can't remember if Goku Junior had a tail though. I don't think so.

pan has a 50% chance of being born with a tail. gohan only had one copy of the tail gene, so there is a 50% chance of it being passed on to pan. every half saiyan was born with a tail that was removed at some point, since their fathers had 2 copies of the gene and would pass 1 on.

Gohans the -only- confirmed half saiya-jin to have a tail. There's never been anything to imply that anyone else got a tail either

As I've stated before, Trunks was also confirmed to have had a tail before Bulma pulled it out. She says so in the manga, which apparently determines the canonicity of the series as we've seen with GT, no?

logic states that every half saiyan would have been born with a tail, that is simple genetic logic. if gohan has a tail, then by extension every half saiyan would be born with a tail, since the tail gene is dominant. there was never any mention of tailless saiyans, so we ave to assume that every saiyan had a tail at birth, so there is no tailless gene within the saiyan population, meaning that goku and vegeta both had 2 copies of the tail gene, so every child they have will be born with 1 copy of that gene. 2nd generation hybrids, such as Pan, have a 50% chance of inheriting the tail gene from their hybrid parents, because the parent only has 1 copy. 3rd generation Hybrids have a 25% total chance of inheriting a copy, since there is a 50% chance that their hybrid parent had one, and a 50% chance of it being passed on. so goku jr., a 4th generation hybrid, has a 12.5% chance of having the tail gene, because each generation has half the chance of the generation before.

Aren't Saiyans suppose to regrow their tails?

Only explaination is Toriyama dropped the tail thing.

goku's tail was surgically removed, and then it never grew back. vegeta's tail was cut off as a full grown adult, and never grew back. so a saiyan child can regrow their tail as long as the root is still intact. if the tail is fully removed, it wont grow back.

but yeah, with the advent of the ssj, oozaru became useless.

Just on a side note, GT makes it so that you CAN pull out a new root from somewhere in the... spine? o.O Goku lost his tail for many many years, then just had it yanked out so he could go Oozaru. >.> Of course, GT has a lot of bull, but still.

IIRC Vegeta states he will regrow his tail despite yajirobe cutting it off.. Refer to the manga

He does say it, but he never does. And, if thought over logically, Yajirobe cutting Vegeta's tail off wouldn't really have rooted it out...? o.O Argh.

Out of all honestly, that seems like the best answer we have so far. And anyway, DBZ creates several plotholes left unmended. I doubt Toriyama would have even cared to look back on small details like Saiyan children and tail traits, as long as they ended up with none.
